Craft Fair - the Low Down . . .

Pheeeew, back from the craft-fair and all in one piece! (And yikes! - Blogger has changed in my absence, I knew it was coming but . . . forgive me if my post reads a little funny, I'm trying to get used to the new layout - change, change, change, I don't know - can't they keep anything the same anymore?????, hehe :)

Anyway, yes, I survived the fair - it wasn't as intimidating as I thought it might be - my two year absence was worrying me a little! It was very reassuring to see some of the craftstall owners whom I knew already, so nice to see familiar faces :) The Craft Fair organisers are very accommodating and friendly and do a really good job of looking after all the crafters - how nice to be asked 'Is everything OK for you?', a big thumbs up for them :)

Here's some pics of the fair in the newly refurbished Stornoway Town Hall . . .

The other craft-stall holders were lovely and friendly (there was quite a few 'newbies'!) - so any fears of my sitting on my ownsome all day with no-one to talk to were quickly put to rest - the couple beside me were really kind and had me in kinks of laughter. I think I was very fortunate with my neighbouring stall holders - all selling a variety of items and very interesting to talk to. The lady opposite me was selling some pretty felted soaps so I had to have some of course, hehe . . .

All in all, a good experience - saleswise I did OK, but not great, enough to cover the cost of the stall (very reasonably priced!) and some extra over and above that. It wasn't a particularly busy day and there were a few lulls in the stream of visitors but heigh, ho - that's craft fairs for you! I enjoyed the challenge of it all, and it really made me feel more focused on my craft business by doing it - heck, it fairly got me finishing and packing all these little items I'd been meaning to do for ages . . . :)

I've even managed to add some of my craft fair stock to my Etsy shop today - hopefully more to be added through the week. Off to enjoy a good nosh of curry now as my Other Half is making Sunday dinner - it smells delish!!

P.S. Hopefully I'll get used to the new Blogger soon - bear with me:)

Hey Alison, the hall looks lovely after it's 'makeover'.....

Glad the Craft Fair turned out well and you covered your costs.......always nice to make more sales though.

I find it's always a bit of a social outing as well and it helps if you have some fun people next to you.

Those little felted soaps are very cute too .....
