Hello peeps - back from a relaxing Easter weekend, but truth be told it wasn't much different from other weekends as it wasn't a Bank Holiday for anyone in the family - no school break, no weekend break for Other Half and I, but anyway it was very nice due to the weather! (and a wee bit of chocolate!)
I didn't get much crafting done as we had other things on the go. I took some pics on Sunday though as it was such a beautiful day. Some wild geese on the moor grazing beside our home . . .
. . . you can just about see them amongst the camouflage of the moor. They're such big birds though - we have lots of them at this time of year. Sometimes they fly quite low overhead on the moor and you can hear their big wings flapping above your head - its a strange sensation!
We have a lovely swathe of daffodils growing wild across the road too - some of my bulbs must have escaped - a happy accident if ever there was one! . . . "I wandered lonely as a cloud, etc, etc." springs to mind :)
As I didn't manage any crafting, I found myself doodling halfway through Sunday - I must have been having withdrawal symptoms :) I had an idea for a little 'tweedie' collage in mind - that tractor fetish just won't go away, hehe . . .
That's a little swatch of one of the tweeds I used in the foreground. I did a few preliminary notes and scribbles on what fabrics, methods, notions, etc. I was planning to use - it was quite nice to have a clear plan for once! Yesterday (Monday) I went to it like a banshee and got so engrossed I forgot to stop for lunch LOL. Here's the finished work before I mounted it (I put some interfacing on the back) . . .
And the finished piece mounted . . .
I had so much fun with this! A little hand embroidery - lazy daisies on the left (spot the daffies in the foreground - they had to get a look in!) . . .
Buttons and butterflies . . .
Some seagulls overhead and a little tractor smoke! . . .
I think I managed to squeeze in all my favourite things - some lace, some buttons, some embroidery, some Kaffe Fasset fabric - a very self indulgent piece of work, I didn't hold back! I have a small stock of these pre-cut mounts which I purchased for some other tweedie project some time ago - so I really must use them :) It's a great excuse to get really creative . . . I added this one to my Etsy shop.
I did finish another one later in the day - I'll show that one another time though - that's definitely enough for now (tweedie overload!!) :D
I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend, whatever you got up to :) Bye for now!
